In the centre of the small village of Longnor in the Peak District stands this fabulous Grade 2 Listed building which was once the Market Hall. These days the Hall is a Craft Centre and Coffee Shop and if you're ever in the area it is well worth dropping in.

Drawn on 6th June, I felt the urge to create something in commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of D-Day. For me, a lone soldier sounding Last Post beneath a tattered flag next to a makeshift grave touched the spot.
